Assuring Grace

In these unprecedented times, one of our deepest desires is to hear the Lord speak to us. His voice brings assurance that we are on the right path, giving us the boldness, confidence and grace to persevere.

Imagine being ready for work when you hear the Lord tell you to delay, even though you are already late. Later, on your way, you discover that a terrible accident has just occurred.

Imagine being prompted to go upstairs, only to discover that the iron was left on. Imagine being directed to study particular topics before an examination, only to find that those exact topics appear in it.

Imagine being prompted to minister to someone, and as you speak, she bursts into tears. She has been drowning in her emotions, and you have arrived at the right time.

The faith of one who hears the Lord speak cannot easily be shaken. People may wonder what drives you or where your strength comes from, but you will wade through the storms of life, pass through fire, leap over walls and march valiantly into any battle Satan brings against you.

Paul heard the Lord clearly; hence, nothing ever talked him out of his faith.

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Acts 9:4-5

Paul’s confession in Romans 8:37-39 is the testimony of a man who truly encountered and heard the Lord. He saw, felt and heard, and that encounter sustained him throughout his journey of faith.

Ananias heard the Lord, and His word overcame Ananias’s fear that Saul might harm him.Acts 9:10-13. Abraham heard God and embarked on a journey of faith without reasoning everything out. Genesis12. Moses heard God and found the boldness to return to Egypt and face Pharaoh. Exodus 3:4. Joshua heard the Lord and led the children of Israel into the Promised Land. Joshua 1:1. Gideon heard the Lord and tore down the altars of idolatry without fear. Judges 6:14. Elijah heard God, confronted Ahab and slew 450 prophets of Baal.1King18:40. In each case, hearing God produced the courage to obey Him.

Can you hear God speak? In times of many voices and so much confusion, one prayer will be that we hear the Lord clearly. Many are undecided in life because they do not know which way to take.

There are many false prophets of propaganda whose words are difficult to discern. They speak as though they are angels of light, yet their words are deceptive and filled with darkness. The media have not always helped us; we have been conditioned to accept breaking news hook, line and sinker, giving others the opportunity to shape our thinking.

We need to hear the Lord concerning our families, careers, choices, decisions and the direction of our lives. How can we move forward without hearing Him? To do so would be to walk in darkness with no light in sight.

Let us pray in the verse below:

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 (KJV)

Hearing the Lord Is Very Important Thank you for this powerful teaching. Hearing the Lord is very, very important in our walk with God. Throughout Scripture, we see that many of the men and women God used greatly were people who heard His voice and responded in obedience. Elijah heard the Lord, and he was able to move according to God's direction. Moses heard the Lord, and he followed His instructions to lead Israel. Abraham heard the Lord, obeyed Him, and stepped out in faith. Joshua heard the Lord, and God gave him direction for leading His people into the Promised Land. The patriarchs and servants of God were able to fulfil their assignments because they heard God, believed what He said, obeyed His instructions, and acted upon His Word. Jesus said: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27 (KJV) My prayer is that this generation will have open spiritual ears. May we not only hear the Word of God, but hear the Lord speaking to our hearts, discern His direction, obey His instructions, and act upon what He tells us. May the Lord remove every spiritual distraction and open our ears to hear clearly. May we have the grace to obey what we hear and the courage to act upon it. In Jesus' name. Amen. MARANATHA! THE LORD IS COMING SOON. Live ready. Walk faithfully. Keep your lamp burning.

Amen it so important to know the voice of the Lord and hear Him clearly. As Jesus said my children hear my voice and another they will not follow. His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. He will always lead us on the right path and will always stir us by the truth of His Word.

Amen, may the Lord's voice echo through us all. It isn't always what to do as in David's enquiry in 1 Samuel 30:8 "Shall I pursue after this troop?" Or 23:4. But also hearing what not to do as in Deuteronomy 1:42 "Go not up, neither fight for I am not among you". The protection and blessings the Lord has for us can be undone by spiritual deafness. May the Lord's words always penetrate and make any crooked path straight, in Jesus name.

Amen! May we always hear and obey our Father's voice in Yeshua's name Amen

Hearing the Lord through His WORD. When you do not know Jesus, (no relationship) you will follow every other voice but the Lord's. When our minds are not transformed by the Word of God, we follow false prophets and teachers because we do not know the will of God for ourselves and we lack spiritual discernment. These was a beautiful read and a reminder to be postured to hear our LORD always, to be sensitive to His voice. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus for our sweet Pastor Grace and the love that pours out from her heart. Lord, we thank you for your still small voice, in Jesus Name, Amen!

How close we are to the Lord, determines the level of our faith in Him; which in turn helps us to hear Him when He speaks to us even in stillness. Thank you Pastor Grace.
